When our families first came to Canada from 1899-1905,
the Union Jack or the Red Ensign flew over this land.
At that time, Alberta was still part of the Northwest
Territories and the territory flag was that of the Hudson Bay Company.
It wasn’t until February 15,1965 that Canada approved her
own flag, designed by George F.G. Stanley, just in time for the Canadian
centennial on July 1, 1967. As of 2019, we are 37.59 million people strong.
